Notes

GWR 10 ton 4 plank Open Goods wagon with iron underframe. Built 5/3/1892 to lot 640 with grease axle boxes and single lever brake.
Later fitted with oil axle boxes and, in 1931 with a double lever brake, being designated diagram O21.
Withdrawn by GWR in Jan. 1935 and thought to have been sold to Sharpness Docks.
Purchased in flat wagon form from British Waterways Board by GWR 813 Fund in 1996 and subsequently moved to AVR.
One of only three known survivors of over 18,000 4 plank iron framed Open Wagons built by the GWR between 1886 and 1902.
These comprised what was effectively the first GWR standard Open Wagon design with channel (as opposed to wooden) frames and,
as such, were the forerunners of the many subsequent five plank Open Wagons built by the GWR and BR(WR) from 1902 until the 1950s.
